Position Title: Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TABB) Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret system blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and performance metrics to ascertain the correct configuration and functionality of system components.
  • Gather and compile system testing data while making field observations and providing recommendations.
  • Generate comprehensive reports, checklists, and documentation of test outcomes, addressing any issues with appropriate supporting materials.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in working with HVAC and mechanical systems, including various sub-components.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of air and hydronic systems utilizing specialized tools and testing equipment.
  • Possess mathematical skills necessary for executing both basic and advanced calculations related to air and hydronic balancing.
  • Travel to various project sites as required for the role.
  • Work autonomously or collaboratively as part of a team.

Job Requirements (including educational qualifications, experience, and technical skills)

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; a degree in mechanical engineering is advantageous.
  • Journeyman-level experience with HVAC systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the TABB industry.
  • Certification in TABB, NEBB, or AABC is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is essential.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam or Adobe Pro is preferred.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety regulations is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Maintain a respectful and professional demeanor while embodying organizational values.
  • Ability to frequently engage in physically demanding activities, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., navigating unstable work environments, and working in adverse weather conditions. Occasionally, may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
