Position Summary:
The Senior 401(k) Plan Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of retirement plans, including the creation and execution of new administrative procedures. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual with significant industry experience, capable of managing responsibilities independently while ensuring high-quality service. This role serves as the primary liaison for clients, with the flexibility to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement effective plan procedures
- Conduct eligibility assessments for plan participants
- Calculate contributions accurately
- Execute compliance testing to meet regulatory standards
- Prepare and file Form 5500
- Oversee a client portfolio of 50-75 accounts
- Facilitate client communication regarding plan management
- Maintain strong client relationships through timely responses to inquiries
- Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in retirement plan administration
- Preferred: Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation
- Strong understanding of benefit plans and their operations
- Experience in plan design is advantageous
- Expertise in drafting plan documents is highly valued
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word
