Position Overview:
Under the guidance of supervisory staff, the Correctional Facility Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of incarcerated individuals within correctional institutions. This role is crucial in maintaining order and enforcing established policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold all institutional policies, rules, and regulations.
- Manage the conduct of offenders to prevent disturbances and ensure compliance with state laws.
- Escort offenders during transit and temporary leaves, ensuring their safety and the safety of others.
- Monitor facility entrances to screen visitors and maintain security protocols.
- Handle and train canines for various duties including tracking and detection of contraband.
- Conduct inspections and maintain inventory of keys, tools, and other security equipment.
- Observe and report on offender behavior to prevent potential escapes or disturbances.
- Supervise offenders during meals, work assignments, and recreational activities.
- Patrol designated areas and address any security concerns promptly.
- Prepare necessary documentation including admission, program, and transfer reports.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and manage offender custody during incidents.

Compensation and Benefits:
The starting salary for this position is competitive, with opportunities for salary increases after six months and a promotion with an additional raise at the one-year mark. Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a combination of training and experience that meets the minimum standards set by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).
