As a Correctional Facility Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of incarcerated individuals within correctional institutions. Your role is vital in maintaining order and enforcing institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and maintain custody of offenders to ensure a secure environment.
- Enforce all relevant rules, regulations, and state laws to manage offenders effectively.
- Escort offenders during transit and temporary leaves, ensuring their safety and compliance.
- Monitor facility entrances to screen visitors and maintain security protocols.
- Handle and train canines for various duties including tracking and detection of contraband.
- Conduct inspections and maintain physical control of keys, tools, and equipment.
Operational Duties:
- Observe offender behavior to prevent disturbances and potential escapes.
- Oversee offenders during work assignments, meals, and recreational activities.
- Patrol assigned areas and report any irregularities or concerns.
- Prepare necessary documentation including admissions, transfers, and incident reports.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and manage crisis situations effectively.
