The Senior Vice President of Operations plays a pivotal role in steering, enhancing, and elevating the operational efficiency of the organization to deliver exceptional products and services within the event rental sector. This position is crucial in ensuring that all inventory is delivered to event locations accurately, on schedule, and in optimal condition. Post-event, the inventory must be retrieved promptly and returned to the warehouse in the same state it was dispatched.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations segment of the profit and loss statement.
- Ensure adherence to all OSHA, DOT, and relevant governmental regulations.
- Guarantee that customer expectations are fulfilled through effective quality control, inventory management, and distribution processes.
- Operate within the designated Operations Labor and Non-Labor COGS budget, managing sub-rentals and consumable supplies proactively.
- Assess and refine current operational processes with insights from the executive team.
- Conduct annual inventory checks and ongoing cycle counts to maintain accurate equipment records.
- Manage the quality and accuracy of equipment prepared for delivery and return, ensuring all items are cleaned, repaired, and restocked appropriately.
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including asset management and order staging.
- Oversee logistics management of equipment yards, ensuring organization and cleanliness.
- Mentor and train team members on equipment management, holding associates accountable for their responsibilities.
- Facilitate individual development paths for associates and conduct annual performance evaluations.
- Provide cost analysis for equipment acquisitions and repairs.
- Lead initiatives for process improvement.
- Ensure warehouse and labor expenditures remain within budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with Account Executives, Project & Event Managers, and the Management Team to ensure all documentation is accurately processed.
- Ensure all orders are fulfilled with clean and functional equipment.
- Engage with Account Executives during weekly recap meetings.
- Optimize all available resources to achieve operational objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Management, Warehousing, Distribution, Dispatching, and Inventory Control.
- Proven track record in building, maintaining, and enhancing reliable products and services that consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
- Strong emphasis on accountability and logistics management.
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Bilingual communication skills in Spanish are a plus.
