Job Title: Evening Nurse Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Evening Nurse Supervisor to join our team at Northampton Management Systems Inc. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and communication skills.

Job Summary:

The Evening Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for supervising nursing care in accordance with rules, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care. This includes ensuring that all nursing personnel assigned to the supervisor comply with written policies and procedures established by the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise nursing care in accordance with rules, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care.
  • Ensure all nursing personnel assigned to the supervisor comply with written policies and procedures established by the organization.
  • Assure the implementation of resident care plans.
  • Conduct assessments and care plans appropriate for residents admitted to the facility.
  • Communicate pertinent information and interpret facility policies to residents, staff, families, and visitors.
  • Communicate effectively with all disciplines.
  • Keep the Director of Nursing informed of any changes in resident condition.
  • Review, investigate, and document properly all incidents/accidents.
  • Coordinate orientation for new nursing staff.
  • Implement progressive discipline when appropriate.
  • Evaluate emergency situations and take appropriate action.
  • Participate in facility surveys made by authorized agencies.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, charting, etc., as necessary.
  • Complete and file required record-keeping forms/charts upon the resident's admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Receive phone orders from physicians and record on the Physician's Order Form.
  • Chart all reports of accidents/incidents involving residents. Follow established procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Verify the identity of the resident after administering the medication/treatment.
  • Ensure adequate medications, supplies, and equipment are available. Report needs to the Director of Nursing.
  • Ensure narcotic records are accurate for the shift.
  • Notify the Director of Nursing of all drug and narcotic discrepancies.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with safety and infection control policies and procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials.
  • Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory and scheduled training and educational classes to maintain current certification as a Nursing Assistant.
  • All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that exhibits the Integritus mission, vision, and core values.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Massachusetts nursing license as an LPN/RN.
  • Previous nursing experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • CPR/BLS/AED and IV certification required.
