Responsibilities of the Parts Counterman:
  • Assist all customers (retail and service) in selecting necessary parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Inform customers of related part requirements and promotions, ensuring they are aware of the complete product range.
  • Respond to phone inquiries, providing price quotes and additional information.
  • Review service estimates to ensure the accuracy of ordered parts and alignment with pricing.
  • Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Retrieve and fulfill orders from inventory.
  • Notify the parts manager of any out-of-stock items or urgent shop materials.
  • Inform service advisors and customers when special orders arrive.
  • Follow up on back-ordered items.
  • Restock assigned inventory daily.
  • Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
  • Ensure all internal parts requests are billed correctly on service repair orders.
  • Collect payments from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
  • Ensure all charge sales are signed by the customer.
  • Provide customers with their copy of the invoice.
  • Process returns for parts, ensuring the original invoice or its number is available for verification.
  • Maintain organized records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special orders.
  • Engage with assigned accounts via phone.
  • Keep front and rear counter areas tidy and organized.
  • Participate in all available training programs.
  • Stay updated on new products and product updates.
  • Collaborate with the parts manager to maintain a lost sales tracking program.
Qualifications of the Parts Counterman:
  • Valid Driver License with a clean driving record.
  • High School diploma or GED is essential.
  • Experience in similar roles, preferably 1+ years.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening.
  • Completion of an acceptable background check.
