Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary:
The Cloud Infrastructure Specialist will serve as a technical advisor and coordinator for all ACM, Drugscan, and DSI Medical Infrastructure platforms, domains, workstations, servers, printers, and network equipment. This position will architect, design, and evaluate hardware and software solutions to specifications meeting customer and departmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical advisor and coordinator for all ACM, Drugscan, and DSI Medical Infrastructure platforms, domains, workstations, servers, printers, and network equipment.
- Architect, design, and evaluate hardware and software solutions to specifications meeting customer and departmental needs.
- Work as a backup to the Senior Infrastructure System Administrator, as needed.
- Participate in the overall functions of the ACM Global Information Technology Department as well as those of the Infrastructure Team.
- Work closely with the Rochester Regional IS&T Systems and Network Engineering teams.
- Leverage 3rd level support, best practices, and systems where applicable to the ACM business units.
- Attend and contribute to regular IT Infrastructure Systems Engineering Team meetings.
- Interact with all levels of Information Technology customers (staff, management, and administration).
- Provide complex infrastructure engineering support for Information Services & Technology customers.
- Provide server technical expertise on infrastructure projects or projects requested by the customer community.
- Responsible for new system implementations and system upgrades, including receiving and installation of server hardware and installation of Operating System software.
- Manage cloud-based Infrastructure services.
- Prepare internal use documentation and implementation instructions.
- Advanced Microsoft Active Directory management, design, and support.
- Provide training to internal IT staff regarding new systems or changes to current systems.
- Augment Systems Administrators with daily support duties and service desk incidents, request, and on/off boarding of users.
- Act as project leader on new projects and preventive maintenance projects.
- Investigate emerging technologies and provide expertise to Management for feasibility of potential implementation into our infrastructure.
- Design infrastructure solutions where data and applications can be managed in a secure and reliable environment.
- Assist in the preparation of the Technical Services budget by submitting requirements for the next fiscal year.
- System Maintenance and Performance.
- Monitor network equipment & servers for health, disk space, security, and overall performance, resolving issues that arise.
- Perform the installation, upgrading, and patching of all infrastructure-supported network hardware and communications software products.
- Prioritize, test, and apply server software service packs and patches as needed in regards to security, functionality, and virus protection.
- Maintain a high degree of server engineering knowledge and overall computer expertise.
- Participate in Infrastructure on-call rotation.
- Bachelor's degree or Five years of equivalent IT experience.

- Experience with virtual server environments preferably VMware, vSphere.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of previous computer, server, and network equipment experience, which should include Windows Server Operating Systems, Cisco Systems, Switching, Routing, VPN, Firewalls, Structure Cabling, etc.

This position will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
