Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Project Construction Manager to oversee various commercial construction projects within the Los Angeles Metro Area. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing all phases of construction, from initial project setup to completion. This role requires strong leadership abilities to coordinate vendors and subcontractors, manage resources, and ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

On-site Project Oversight
  • Supervise all construction phases, from pre-construction meetings to project completion.
  • Travel may be necessary for on-site management.
  • Lead both internal and external construction teams.
  • Maintain and track project schedules, utilizing tools such as SmartSheets or MS Project.
  • Coordinate on-site activities to optimize workflow.
  • Monitor project expenses to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential conflicts.
  • Prepare daily logs and weekly reports for the Director of Construction.
Pre-Construction Duties
  • Conduct thorough reviews of plans and documents, ensuring organized document control.
  • Assist in project buyout processes, including vendor solicitation and bid analysis.
  • Facilitate initial project planning and scheduling.
  • Coordinate project setup, including temporary facilities and meetings.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Continuously assess trade workmanship for quality and compliance with building codes.
  • Stay informed about relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate inspections with building officials.
  • Manage project punch lists and oversee necessary corrections.
Team Leadership
  • Provide clear guidance and supervision to team members.
  • Review and approve payment applications from trade partners.
Resource Management
  • Effectively manage time and prioritize resources.
  • Schedule and oversee all subcontractors and vendors.
  • Foster positive relationships with all trade partners.

  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years in a lead superintendent role within commercial construction.
  • Experience managing projects valued between $5-20M, particularly in civil/site work.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in organizational and time management.
  • Familiarity with LEAN and Critical Path Project Planning.
  • Competent in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to provide clear direction and resolve issues effectively.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from $111,608 to $139,510. TEC Equipment offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, wellness, and retirement options, ensuring the well-being of our employees and their families.
