Job Title: Electrical Test Operations Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Test Operations Engineer to join our team at HII Mission Technologies in Newport News, VA.

The successful candidate will support the development of new technologies, the proper implementation of systems and components, and ensure safe operation of those systems and components throughout their intended lifespan.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of different functional areas at Newport News Shipyard (NNS), where HII builds the most advanced ships in the world, nuclear powered Aircraft Carriers and Submarines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
  • Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
  • Use personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must be a recent graduate with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or graduating college senior who is in good academic standing and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required prior to starting Employment.
  • Candidate must have experience utilizing industry-current Engineering design and analytical or modeling software.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a confidential security clearance.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Knowledge of nuclear and radiation safety principles.
  • Completion of an internship.
