Position Overview

As the Logistics Operations Supervisor, you will oversee various tasks in a client-focused atmosphere. Your role will involve leading a diverse team, which may include Operations Associates, Drivers, and Administrative Coordinators. You will collaborate with other internal departments such as Sales, as well as engage with external customer support. Your primary goal will be to deliver outstanding customer service through effective order fulfillment and resolution of issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operational aspects of the facility, ensuring timely order fulfillment and shipping, efficient receiving processes, and effective management of working capital related to operations, inventory, and quality management systems.
  • Responsible for managing a facility that may involve multiple warehouse management systems and various customer-oriented services.
  • Foster a safe, secure, and inclusive work environment.
  • Guide, mentor, recruit, and train team members, including conducting performance evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and audit standards (e.g., internal controls, ISO 9000).
  • Manage the expense-based profit and loss statement (P&L) in accordance with the established plan.
  • Implement efficiencies within the facility using LEAN methodologies.
  • Maintain facility standards to ensure readiness for tours.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance of the facility and all equipment, including material handling equipment, cutting machines, racking systems, and warehouse infrastructure.
  • Align facility capacities with the expectations of customers and sales professionals, collaborating with leadership to ensure market strategy alignment.
  • Work closely with support departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources, and Finance.
  • Actively participate in the development of annual budgets for the facility.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, particularly in distribution center environments.
  • Experience in managing a team of individual contributors and/or indirectly supervising support staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills, both in group and individual settings.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency.
  • Willingness to travel 0-25% of the time.

Work Environment: The role is primarily conducted in a warehouse setting, characterized by a moderately quiet noise level, good ventilation, and lighting. Employees may encounter various weather conditions and are required to wear protective gear. The position involves operating heavy machinery, and adherence to strict safety regulations is mandatory.
