The Lead Commodities Strategist plays a pivotal role in optimizing costs to align with the financial objectives of the organization. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of supply chain dynamics and commodities, particularly in the realms of electronics, metals, and cable materials. Exceptional accounting and analytical skills are essential, alongside expertise in data evaluation tools and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market assessments and competitive analysis, validate forecasts, and implement pricing and cost reduction strategies.
- Examine monthly expenditure data to pinpoint discrepancies from established standards.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Commodity Managers, and Procurement to formulate cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop and deliver presentations on cost reduction strategies to Senior Leadership.
- Monitor, track, and report on realized and projected Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
- Partner with the Contracts Manager to draft contractual provisions related to year-over-year pricing reductions and rebates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, focusing on budgeting, modeling, and cost/PPV analysis.
- Prior experience with electronics, metals, and cable commodities is highly advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of commodities and cost reduction methodologies.
- Advanced skills in pricing negotiations.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong mathematical and accounting capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adept at identifying challenges and proposing effective solutions.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis.
The compensation range for this role is between $112,000 and $144,000 annually, with the final salary being contingent upon skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographical location.
