Job Summary

The SunLine Transit Agency is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our fleet of buses and other vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanics and other staff to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our vehicles.
  • Plan, organize, and control the maintenance and repair activities to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Assign and supervise the work of mechanics and utility workers engaged in cleaning, fueling, maintaining, and repairing buses and other vehicles.
  • Estimate time, material, and parts costs for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management on maintenance and repair activities, including vehicle inspections and quality control checks.
  • Coordinate the exchange of buses between facilities to provide for scheduled preventative maintenance and/or warranty repairs.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve maintenance and repair efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five years of increasingly responsible fleet maintenance and repair experience in a public transit agency.
  • Ability to obtain California Driver License Class B within the first two months of employment and maintain insurability under the Agency's insurance policy.
  • Certification as a Commercial DOT Brake Inspector preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Refrigerant recovery/recycling certification required for certain assignments.

The Maintenance Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
