About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Multimodal Transportation Engineer to join our team in Portland, OR. As a key member of our design team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of transportation in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop sustainable transportation projects, including complete street reconfigurations, bikeway design, and shared use path design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including planners, landscape architects, and graphics designers, to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Manage transportation projects at various levels of planning and design, including concept-level design and construction documents.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, including presenting at technical and business development events.
  • Mentor staff and contribute to internal professional development programs.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license.
  • Experience in active, non-motorized transportation and knowledge of project management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Ability to guide staff members and manage internal team expectations.
  • Excellent professional ethics, leadership skills, accountability, and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field of study.
  • Experience managing large projects for both private and public clients.
  • Experience writing and/or presenting white papers and/or providing expert-level presentations at conferences and other events promoting the field of sustainable infrastructure and active, non-motorized transportation.
