President Container Group, a leading independent manufacturer of Corrugated Packaging, is seeking a highly skilled HR Specialist to join our team. As an HR Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the recruitment process by creating job descriptions, posting job openings, and identifying qualified candidates.
- Support the onboarding process by creating and submitting help desk onboarding forms, creating new hire letters, and scheduling background checks and drug screens.
- Manage employee HRIS changes, including address updates, leaves of absence, hires, terminations, pay increases, and position changes.
- Manage leaves, including FMLA, workers' compensation, paid family leave, and disability, in partnership with the HR Manager and HR Director.
- Stay up-to-date on compliance issues and law changes to provide guidance to employees.
- Work in a union environment, requiring knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Assist the HR Manager with union grievance processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with decision-making capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Superb computer literacy skills with email, MS Office, and HRIS systems.
