Transformative Financial Leadership Opportunity

Near North Health, a pioneering healthcare organization in Chicago's community health landscape, seeks an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to drive strategic financial planning, risk management, and compliance. As a visionary leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with our mission to provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality primary healthcare services to underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational growth and sustainability, ensuring alignment with Near North Health's mission and objectives.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Oversee comprehensive risk management strategies, including compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, HRSA grant requirements, Medicaid, Medicare, and other funding sources' reporting and compliance standards.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate complex financial information to a broad range of stakeholders, including non-financial staff, to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Operational and Financial Oversight: Manage the finance department's day-to-day operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction and oversight to the finance department, ensuring professional growth, operational efficiency, and a culture of high performance and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a healthcare setting, preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information in an understandable manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a proven track record of effective financial forecasting and risk management.
  • Experience with healthcare financial regulations and grant management, including Ryan White.
  • Proficient in financial software and technology tools to support forecasting and decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative team environment.
