We are seeking a highly skilled Dietary Operations Manager to oversee the total operation of our dietary department at Skyline Healthcare Center-San Jose. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing food service operations and coordinating nutritional services for our residents and patients.
Key Responsibilities- Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, and retain a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of our kitchen. Ensure employee performance meets or exceeds expectations and conduct periodic performance appraisals.
- Food Service Operations: Supervise the preparation and service of planned menus, nourishments, and supplements, adhering to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal guidelines.
- Inventory and Purchasing: Ensure food is received, stored, prepared, held, and served according to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal guidelines. Purchase dietary food and supplies within assigned budgets and through company-approved distribution sources.
- Financial Management: Maintain accurate and timely financial records.
- Nutritional Planning: Participate in the assessment, development, and implementation of the nutritional plan of care for residents and patients.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure quality assurance processes are followed in the preparation of food.
- Nutritional Education: Assist with nutritional education for residents, patients, families, and caregivers.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: One (1) year supervised food service experience in an institutional setting, focusing on planning, preparing, and servicing regular and therapeutic diets.
- Certifications: May be filled by a Registered Dietitian. Must meet state-specific requirements.
Supervises the food service staff and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
Hourly Wage Rate Range:$20.00 to $25.00 depending on experience.
