Job Description:

As a key member of our radiation oncology team, the successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of radiation treatment machines and equipment, as well as procedures commonly used in brachytherapy. This individual will work closely with the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations, utilizing their expertise and education to drive collaboration and innovation.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry program or Certified as a Medical Dosimetrist
  • Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
  • Compliance with national and state laws and institutional policies related to qualifications required to practice medical dosimetry in Colorado
Responsibilities:
  • Derive computerized treatment plans and communicate technical aspects to the Radiation Oncologist for plan revision and approval and to the Radiation Therapist for plan implementation
  • Perform routine duties independently, consulting with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required
  • Operate and perform quality assurance on the treatment planning computer under the direction of the Medical Physicist
  • Have working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations pertaining to radiation therapy
  • Interpret and execute treatment plans as defined in relevant treatment protocols
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in a related field
  • Mathematical skills and knowledge including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and introductory calculus
  • Ability to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts to facilitate the treatment planning process
