Job Description

A leading logistics company within the oil & gas industry is seeking a Vice President of Operations to oversee and optimize key operational functions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in operations management with a deep understanding of best practices, metrics, and regulatory requirements, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the business.
  • Identify and leverage industry trends and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee daily operations, including warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and distribution, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  • Manage and optimize operational workflows to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development for team members.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resources, ensuring alignment with financial targets and operational goals.
  • Work closely with other departments, including sales, procurement, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of operational activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to the executive team on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements and integrate innovative solutions into operational practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the logistics or consumer goods industry. Experience within a major supply chain organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful operational strategies and driving process improvements.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain best practices, operational metrics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze performance data, and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience with operations management software and systems, including ERP and WMS platforms. Strongly prefer experience with Oracle systems.
  • Comfortability to travel as much as needed (30-40% anticipated after first year).
