Retail Sales Associate

As a Cashier and Customer Service Representative at Hometown Grocers, Inc., you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our guests. This position requires a strong focus on maintaining a clean and organized store environment, processing sales efficiently, and communicating effectively with colleagues and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with Guests: Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner, making eye contact and engaging in conversation to build rapport and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Process Sales Transactions: Accurately and efficiently process sales transactions, handling cash, credit card payments, and other forms of payment.
- Maintain Store Appearance: Ensure the store appearance is maintained to the highest standards, including the cleanliness of the sales floor, stockroom, and other areas.
- Communicate with Colleagues: Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless operations, including reporting guest requests and concerns to management.
- Meet Quality Standards: Meet or exceed quality standards, including maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring products are displayed attractively.
- Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
- Basic Math Skills: Basic math skills to accurately handle cash and process sales transactions.
- Ability to Stand for Long Periods: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, and move around the store as needed.
The Cashier and Customer Service Representative is an hourly, part or full-time position. The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays within the individual's availability.
