About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to lead our new Transitional Aged Youth Resource Center of Excellence (TAY Center) in Glendale. The TAY Center will provide comprehensive, centralized care for unserved, underserved, or inappropriately served youth and young adults who experience unique developmental and transitional challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership & Development
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive program that addresses the needs of transitional aged youth, including mental health services, substance use services, housing and employment services, and crisis services.
    • Project manage all aspects of the TAY Center's initial implementation, including construction, staff recruitment, service development, and community outreach and marketing.
    • Ensure delivery of services in accordance with contracted guidelines and Didi Hirsch values.
    • Form a highly effective team to accomplish the TAY Center's short and long-term goals.
    • Provide leadership to TAY Center staff ensuring that client services meet or exceed contractual or grant performance goals.
    • Develop strong community partnerships to support the TAY Center's programs and participants.
    • Participate in local and state-level meetings related to TAY-centric policies, funding, and services.
    • Create and oversee a youth advisory board to assist in the development and implementation of the Center.
  • Management Duties
    • Perform managerial duties to include interviewing applicants for employment, assigning and reviewing progress of assignments, conducting performance appraisals, recommending salary increases, and developing higher levels of expertise in staff members.
    • Identify staff training needs and ensure development and implementation of programs that address needs; participate in delivering training sessions to meet the needs of staff related to clinical/program needs.
    • Coach staff in the development of their work plans, their assigned duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
    • Attend, participate, lead, and/or facilitate routinely scheduled meetings as requested or required for the program, division, or Agency.
  • Program Quality, Compliance and Reporting
    • Work closely with the Research & Evaluation and Quality Improvement departments to comprehensively examine the long-term impact of the services and make continuous quality improvements to optimize effectiveness.
    • Ensure outcome measures are regularly collected and analyzed to assess progress and effectiveness of program.
    • Review chart documentation, status reports, and dashboards to ensure the program and staff meet or exceed required Agency, grant, and applicable regulatory standards.
    • Ensure all administrative documentation is accurate and submitted within the established timeframe.
    • Maintain compliance with the various funding stream and contract requirements.
  • Financial Duties
    • Efficiently utilize financial resources while maintaining commitment to quality service when purchasing necessary program supplies.
    • Assist in the development of program budget and ensure expenditures comply with approved budgets; monitor and evaluate budget issues and recommend corrective action.
    • Pursue new funding streams in partnership with the Didi Hirsch Grants & Development Team.
    • Actively seek out and engage potential funders, both private and public, and explore funding opportunities.
    • Have ability to flexibly navigate and coordinate a braided and blending funding stream model.
