Role OverviewThis role is part of the Data Science & AI Solutions team at HP, focusing on the development and incubation of innovative products and services leveraging AI technologies.
As a Product Manager, you will take charge of shaping the vision, roadmap, and specifications for these products, quickly validating or invalidating the commercial potential of new ideas through the creation of initial prototypes.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in AI tools and workflows, possess a combination of tactical and strategic skills, and have an entrepreneurial mindset to identify emerging market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Stay informed about industry trends and customer requirements related to AI.
- Establish an incubation process to swiftly intake, develop, and evaluate various product concepts from ideation to initial prototyping.
- Articulate a clear product vision for each concept that aligns with the company's strategic objectives.
- Exhibit strong business acumen to identify and assess potential product viability in the fast-evolving AI landscape.
- Lead the ideation, definition, and development of innovative concepts that utilize AI to address complex challenges and fulfill customer needs.
- Communicate feature prioritization, timelines, and acceptance criteria to agile engineering teams, emphasizing rapid concept prototyping and validation.
- Collaborate with product design to quickly create wireframes and prototypes for testing and validation with potential customers.
- Assist product marketing in developing and testing initial concept positioning and messaging.
- Define and monitor key performance metrics and success criteria to evaluate the desirability of various product concepts and guide future ideation.
- Regularly present to senior leadership on the status of incubation products, providing recommendations to advance, pivot, or discontinue different concepts.
- For products that successfully transition from incubation, support the handover to the commercialization team.
We are looking for an experienced product manager or ex-founder with a proven track record in new product development within startup environments.
The candidate must possess a founder's mentality, capable of developing, communicating, and executing a clear product vision.
Required qualifications include:
- Over 10 years of experience in software product management, specifically in Data Science or AI Technologies (portfolio required).
- Prior experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, LLMs, or Generative AI solutions.
- Proficiency in R, Python, and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, employing a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams and articulate ideas at the executive level.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management processes.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or related fields is required. An MBA or advanced degrees in AI-related fields are highly preferred.
