We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) professional to join our finance team at OneUnited Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and planning support to senior management, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, and driving business growth through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general ledger operations, account reconciliations, and financial reporting activities to provide timely and accurate financial data to all levels of management.
- Develop and maintain financial models for various business units and projects, analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information for financial analysis, preparing ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making.
- Participate in the month-end closing process, review of high-risk asset accounting, and other complex accounting research and processes as assigned.
- Assist in preparing financial data for the bank's quarterly federal and state call reports, annual consolidated balance sheet, income statements, statements of change in capital, and statement of changes in financial position, annual budget, and long-range financial plan.
- Develop and maintain intricate Excel spreadsheets and automated accounting system reports, budget reports, and other financial data.
- Mentor and develop FP&A team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- A strong understanding of GAAP accounting concepts, with five to seven years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in a banking environment or three to five years of financial planning and analysis experience.
- Must be capable of independently problem-solving challenges while working with other departments across the bank.
- Demonstrated knowledge of reconciliation, financial reporting, and appropriate skills in financial analysis, technical writing, and reporting.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule work and projects and exercise judgment within boundaries of individual assignments.
- Ability to work in a team environment under the direction of multiple managers.
