Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Software Engineer to join our team at Belcan in Indianapolis, IN. This role involves developing control system requirements, automated test code, and integrating them into testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DO-178 methodologies, systems and software development, and experience with programming languages such as C, Ada, and Fortran.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with Systems Engineering teams to develop Control System Requirements for engine control system control laws.
  • Develop automated test code/scripts/simulation and integrate them into testing frameworks.
  • Complete peer reviews of test documentation and code.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Software, Test, HW/SW Integration, and Simulation teams on successful completion of the Verification lifecycle.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of systems and/or software development/verification experience to industry-related safety standards.
  • Strong knowledge of DO-178 methodologies.
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering tools, Matlab, and Simulink.
  • Programming languages such as C, Ada, and Fortran.
  • Scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.).
  • Formal version control and structured development/verification practices.
  • Test management tools, integrating, and debugging in a continuous integration environment.
  • Agile team experience using workspace and collaboration tools: Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket/GIT.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace control systems and Level A systems experience.
  • Testing and debugging with Software in the Loop, Hardware in the Loop, and automated pipelines.
  • Aerospace SAE ARP 4754 and DO-178 full-lifecycle development.
  • Configuration Management Tools such as BitBucket/GIT.
  • Test Management Tools such as Rapita.
  • Team Workspace Tools such as Confluence, Jira, Crucible.
