Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technologies to improve aerodynamic, aero-acoustic and thermal performance for various GE products.
  • Perform research and technology development for the next generation of aircraft engine and aerospace technologies.
  • Work in a team carrying out research and development of next generation aerodynamics, for turbomachinery and non-tradition turbomachinery products.
  • Develop aerodynamic and thermal technology and concepts specific to aircraft engines.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related disciplines OR Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and CFD. Experience in meshing & using engineering simulation/analysis tools (such as CFX or Fluent) to model turbomachinery flows.
  • Ability to investigate, model and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interface with senior leaders and customers with clarity and confidence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of industrial or research experience in turbomachinery aerodynamics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in meshing & using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), hi-fidelity LES based approach and high performance computing.
  • Outstanding programming skills including expertise with FORTRAN, C++ and Python.
  • Passion for science and technology and clear evidence of innovation and creativity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Base pay range: $80,000 - $150,000 USD Annually.
