We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Director to join our team at Solstice Senior Living at El Cajon. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the property and its physical plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the general operations of the maintenance department and housekeeping department to ensure the property is maintained in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner.
- Hire, evaluate, coordinate, motivate, monitor performance, schedule, and supervise department staff in accordance with company policy.
- Apply knowledge of building construction types and perform manual tasks daily.
- Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) regulations and participate in safety committee meetings.
- Manage facilities operations, including budget, supervision, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform light maintenance tasks, basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance, and troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Build strong relationships with staff, residents, and vendors, and demonstrate organizational skills, multitasking, and construction trade knowledge.
Requirements:
- Preferably two (2) years supervisory experience in the building industry, maintenance, and/or housekeeping.
- Ability to explain work duties to staff and effectively interact with residents, families, employees, visitors, co-workers, and government agencies.
- Ability to perform manual tasks daily and be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job.
- Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test not more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment.
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
