Professor, Asian Diaspora Feminist Studies

Job Summary:

The Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Wake Forest University invites applications for a tenure-eligible Full Professor position to begin July 1, 2025. We seek applicants with research and teaching interests in the field of Asian/Pacific Islander/Desi communities/Asian Diaspora Feminist Studies with a specialization in Trans/Queer studies.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach 27 credit hours over four semesters across all curricular levels.
  • Teach sections of an introductory elective course, "Perspectives in Gender and Sexuality."
  • Develop and teach advanced elective courses, internship-based seminars, and seminars designed for first-year students.
  • Contribute to the department's vision for diversity and inclusion in higher education.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies or a relevant academic discipline in the humanities or social sciences.
  • Strong and effective teaching, sustained quality research, and productive collaboration with campus, community, and academic partners.
  • Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment for an increasingly diverse student body.
