Job Title: Associate Professor of Environmental Social Science

We are seeking an Associate Professor of Environmental Social Science to join our team at Wake Forest University's Environment and Sustainability Studies Program. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in geography, environmental studies, anthropology, sociology, or a related field and a strong research focus on environmental social science.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in environmental social science, including introductory and advanced courses
  • Develop and maintain a research program in environmental social science, including publishing research in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the university to develop and implement interdisciplinary research projects
  • Advise and mentor students in environmental social science, including undergraduate and graduate students
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in geography, environmental studies, anthropology, sociology, or a related field
  • Strong research focus on environmental social science
  • Experience teaching courses in environmental social science
  • Ability to develop and maintain a research program in environmental social science
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across the university
  • Ability to advise and mentor students in environmental social science
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Experience with community-based research and participatory action research
  • Experience with digital storytelling and public scholarship
