Patient Services Coordinator

Position Overview
The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for performing various clerical, administrative, and secretarial tasks. This includes managing phone calls, assisting the public, processing data, and maintaining records.
Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Welcome patients warmly and accurately record their information during check-in, check-out, or appointment scheduling.
- Employ computer systems to register new patients, manage check-ins and check-outs, print necessary documentation, and coordinate appointments.
- Handle incoming calls with professionalism, taking precise messages and ensuring they reach the right person.
- Effectively communicate essential information to patients, visitors, and team members.
- Verify patient insurance details through various channels and collect required payments for services rendered.
- Update patient electronic health records as necessary.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining shared office spaces.
- Monitor supply levels and notify management when inventory is low.
- Provide assistance to patients as required.
- Send out communications via email, fax, or postal services.
- Perform any other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, along with familiarity with medical insurance and electronic medical records.
- Proficient in operating telecommunication systems, personal computers, and relevant software.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of interacting with patients, staff, and other stakeholders in a courteous and professional manner.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in reporting and data management.
Physical Demands
This role is typically performed in an office environment. The employee will need to work at a computer and be on the phone for extended periods. Physical activities include standing, sitting, walking, and occasionally climbing. The role may require lifting up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
