Position Overview:

Collins Aerospace, a division of Raytheon Technologies, is at the forefront of innovative solutions within the aerospace and defense sectors. We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to enhance assembly operations for advanced aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge solutions to support production efficiency, quality assurance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support for operational challenges, focusing on safety and ergonomics, while mentoring junior engineers.
  • Engage in tool design evaluations to ensure practicality and minimize fabrication time and costs.
  • Collaborate with management and shop personnel to refine processes, aiming for cost reduction and improved quality metrics.
  • Lead initiatives to resolve operational issues and enhance overall performance metrics.
  • Maintain and create comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including routings and standard work instructions.
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as required.
Learning Opportunities:
  • Gain proficiency in data analytics and statistical process control to drive productivity improvements.
  • Identify design opportunities through technical specifications to influence engineering modifications.
  • Enhance manufacturing processes through collaboration with design engineers to achieve optimal producibility.
  • Analyze operational data to refine procedures and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
Essential Skills:
  • Eligibility as a U.S. Person for export compliance.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA V5.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with ERP systems like SAP.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of various materials including aluminum, steel, and composites.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills related to quality and manufacturing costs.
