About the Role

The Surgical Assistant RN is a vital member of our perioperative team, providing essential support to our surgeons and patients during surgical procedures. As a Surgical Assistant RN, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical suite, maintaining a safe and efficient environment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in positioning patients for surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Provide exposure and visualization of the surgical site, utilizing retractors, sponges, and digital manipulation of tissue.
  • Assist with hemostasis, participating in volume replacement or autotransfusion techniques as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe environment at the surgical field, adhering to hospital policy, laws, and regulations.
  • Complete all documentation and required forms immediately after the surgical case.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • One year of Operating Room theater experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent clinical judgment, and computer literacy.
  • RNFA/PA certification and current NJ license.
