About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN First Assistant to join our Surgical Services team at SSM Health. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct assistance to surgeons before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Implement physicians' orders to provide visualization of the operative site using appropriate methods.
  • Assist with body plane closure, application of wound dressings, and securing of drainage systems.
  • Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in healthcare to nursing practice.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
  • Completion of an RNFA program that meets AORN standards.
  • Two years' registered nurse experience in an advanced surgical specialty.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
  • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification.
