Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Surgical First Assistant to join our team at SSM Health.

**Job Responsibilities:**

* Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures
* Position patients to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizing equipment when necessary
* Provide visualization of the operative site using appropriate method
* Utilize appropriate technique to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis
* Assist with body plane closure, application of wound dressings and securing of drainage systems
* Participate as a surgical team member in the preparation of the surgical suite
* Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

**Requirements:**

* Associate's degree or Clinical Certification
* Three years' experience
* Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)

**Work Environment:**

* Day Shift (United States of America)
* 40 hours per week
