Job Summary

At EMC Insurance Companies, we're seeking a skilled Premium Audit Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in reviewing and processing mail audit documents to produce final audit invoices in accordance with manual rules, state regulations, and company standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine and process all mail audit documents submitted by policyholders to accurately calculate earned premium
  • Use appropriate premium audit rules and classifications to accurately calculate exposures and premiums
  • Communicate renewal endorsements as appropriate
  • Complete incoming work within the established company standards for quality, timeliness, and productivity
  • Build and maintain relationships with agents and insureds by helping to answer audit questions, communicating audit results, and facilitating audit disputes
  • Correspond with underwriting, claims, and fraud departments as necessary
  • Develop a working knowledge of manual rules, state regulations, and company standards and procedures
  • Provide administrative support to Field Audit Team as departmental SOP outlines
  • Investigate and resolve disputes and differences in payroll and classification data. Escalate as needed to Manager
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Two years of experience in commercial lines underwriting support or accounting or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Ability to file alpha information accurately
  • Good proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good knowledge of insurance terminology and classification codes preferred
  • Knowledge of underwriting and rating preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and good math aptitude

*Per the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hiring range for this position for Colorado-based team members is $41,519.20 - 53,327.98. The hiring range for other locations may vary*
