Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our interdisciplinary team on our Surgical Specialties/Orthopedics & Limb Salvage Inpatient Unit at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered acute nursing care to individuals with various medical issues or preparing for or recovering from surgery.
  • Collaborate with the registered nurse and other healthcare team members to implement a plan of care and education to maintain and restore health and prevent complications.
  • Administer medications, perform activities of daily living, and provide patient and family education about measures of health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.
  • Participate in the orientation of staff members/students and contribute to the implementation of unit objectives and performance improvement activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing or completion of a pharmacology course.
  • 1-2 years experience within a Rehabilitation or acute setting required or new graduates considered based on student clinical experiences.
  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure required and CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation required.
