About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our interdisciplinary team on the Surgical Specialties/Orthopedics & Limb Salvage Inpatient Unit at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered acute nursing care to individuals with a variety of medical issues or who are preparing for or recovering from surgery.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members to implement a plan of care and education to maintain and restore health and prevent complications.
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications, performing activities of daily living, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Participate in the orientation of staff members and students, and contribute to the implementation of unit objectives and performance improvement activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree or completion of a pharmacology course preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience within a Rehabilitation or acute setting required; new graduates considered based on student clinical experiences.
  • LPN- Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure required; CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation required.
