Role Summary
The Lead Philanthropy Officer plays a crucial role within the Organizational Advancement team, overseeing the strategic development, expansion, and management of our major gifts initiative. This program focuses on nurturing relationships and securing contributions from individuals and corporations capable of making significant donations of $5,000 or more. The officer will manage a personal portfolio of 150 donors, both current and prospective, and will be responsible for crafting and executing strategies for prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts to further the mission and vision of Catholic Charities.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven track record in planning and executing major gift initiatives, including the ability to solicit and secure donations of $5,000 and above.
- Skilled in asking insightful questions that encourage prospects and donors to share their stories and interests.
- Ability to inspire and engage individuals in the major gift cultivation and solicitation process.
- Competent in managing competing priorities, complex scenarios, and tight deadlines.
- Capable of articulating the mission and programs of Catholic Charities to a diverse audience, including both Catholic and non-Catholic communities.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
Professional Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience in fundraising is essential.
