As a Pharmaceutical Oncology Specialist at Beebe Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical services to patients requiring care from practitioners with privileges at our institution. Your expertise in antineoplastic therapies and investigational drug therapy will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.

Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have 1 year post-graduate clinical oncology and infusion experience, with strong skills in computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. You will also have the ability to quickly learn or have a working knowledge of common EMR systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Review physician orders for correctness based on standards of care, patient organ function, disease, and all factors relating to the safe and effective use of medications
  • Prepare, oversee, and manage the safe and correct preparation of all medications for administration to patients
  • Evaluate and manage inventory to assure the pharmacy will have sufficient supplies to treat scheduled patients
  • Educate staff, nurses, physicians, and patients on the use of antineoplastic medications, supportive therapies, and therapies associated with non-malignant diseases and disorders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
  • 1 year post-graduate clinical oncology and infusion experience
  • Strong skills in computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to quickly learn or have a working knowledge of common EMR systems
