About the Opportunity

Penn Medicine, a leading academic medical center, is seeking a full-time Unit-Based Clinical Pharmacist for its Ambulatory Oncology department at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine (PCAM).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, providing drug information to healthcare providers and patients, ensuring continuity of pharmaceutical care, and participating in medication management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense medications using appropriate techniques to ensure outcomes of drug therapies and follow health system policies and procedures.
  • Provide concise and timely responses to drug information requests from healthcare providers and patients.
  • Ensure continuity of pharmaceutical care between acute and ambulatory patient-care settings.
  • Participate in the established process for assessing, managing, and reporting Adverse Drug Events (ADEs).
  • Assume responsibility for adherence to medication-use policies and guidelines.
  • Manage time effectively to fulfill practice responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Current pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania required.
Credentials
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science or PharmD from an accredited College of Pharmacy or Equivalent required.
  • Previous oncology experience preferred.
  • PGY1 and PGY2 in oncology preferred.
