Key Responsibilities:
Below are the primary duties and responsibilities associated with this role:
- Possess a solid understanding of and experience in maintenance operations within a plant environment.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of PLC systems and the ability to troubleshoot PLC panels.
- Conduct troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on all production machinery, including but not limited to pumps, pasteurizers, homogenizers, atomizers, evaporators, dryers, valves, and baggers.
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on all auxiliary equipment, such as boilers, air compressors, ammonia compressors, thermal storage units, condensers, vacuum pumps, ammonia systems, air conditioning units, and various meters.
- Capable of troubleshooting electrical circuits and replacing motors across various voltage levels.
- Handle chemicals necessary for the operation of support equipment and conduct chemical testing of various water types.
- Actively participate as a member of the emergency response team, adhering to safety protocols and wearing required protective equipment.
- Complete daily utility readings and maintain accurate documentation of all schematic and diagram changes.
- Fabricate and manufacture equipment to meet production requirements, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain company tools and report work orders and activity reports daily.
- Adhere to all company policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safety Rules.
- Foster a collaborative work environment by maintaining positive relationships with co-workers and management.
- Ensure consistent and reliable attendance at work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Work safely and efficiently, following all safety procedures.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and persistence in finding solutions.
- Possess or be able to obtain a forklift operator license.
- Hold a mechanical and/or journey-level certificate from a formal apprenticeship program, with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a production environment involving electronics, instrumentation, refrigeration, electrical, and general mechanical work.
- Willingness to attend training sessions to enhance skills.
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements for this position include:
- Regularly lifting up to 60 lbs and occasionally up to 80 lbs.
- Frequent walking, standing, and bending throughout the workday.
- Climbing ladders and balancing on machinery as needed.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for tool operation and machine part positioning.
Work Environment:
Employees may encounter varying temperatures and potential exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials while performing their duties.
