Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support our National Programs Intelligence Systems & Application Operating Unit. The SITE III ITS Task Order effort is charged with the orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of a portfolio of mission applications and services for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases, including monitoring for availability and performance, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, performance analysis and tuning, disaster backup and recovery, index maintenance, and monitoring of data and capacity planning.
  • Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of all databases (Development, Test, Production).
  • Plan and schedule maintenance, including routine and emergency security patching for database management systems and platforms in the production environment.
  • Obtain and maintain applicable privileged user accounts in compliance with DIA security regulations, completing all applicable annual user training.
  • Maintain access control settings, user accounts, and password resets, performing database backups, and reviewing and archiving log files.
  • Evaluate and recommend available database management system (DBMS) products.
  • Provide support to platform system administrators by providing analysis and recommendations for any system or performance improvements.
  • Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues and obtain application patches to resolve database server software-related defects.
  • Perform Oracle and PostgreSQL database and application server administration.
  • Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.
  • Update applicable documentation.
Qualifications
  • Requires 8 years with BS/BA, or 6 years with MS/MA, or 4 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficient in Oracle 19c.
  • Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a polygraph.
  • Proficient with Oracle PL/SQL and RMAN.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 and 2019.
  • Experience with Oracle WebLogic.
  • Experience with JBOSS, Apache, Tomcat, Java.
  • Experience with Linux (CENTOS, RHEL).
  • Active CompTIA Security+ CE Certification.
  • DoD 8570 Certification in a primary DBMS (PostgreSQL and/or Oracle).
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends, when needed for deployments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DIA and the IC.
  • Experience with system accreditation process and RMF.
  • Experience installing/configuring and managing/supporting PostgreSQL and Oracle databases in a classified environment.
  • Experience with Oracle Text package.
  • Experience with Oracle Content Manager running on Oracle WebLogic (Oracle Fusion Middleware products).
  • Experience performing database admin duties in the C2S/AWS environment.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Weblogic servers.
  • Familiarity with DODIIS security/builds.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-level VMware products.
  • Knowledge of API Services (DPaaS), OpenShift4, and CI/CD.
