Program Management Officer Job Description

This role involves administering finance, human resources, and facilities for small to mid-sized academic or research programs. The successful candidate will develop and organize academic or research conferences and other public forums, working under the direction of a Principal Investigator or more senior Academic Program Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer finance, human resources, and facilities for academic or research programs.
  • Develop and organize academic or research conferences and other public forums.
  • Work under the direction of a Principal Investigator or more senior Academic Program Officer.
Requirements
  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, or a Bachelor's degree in a related area plus three years of related experience/training.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources, and financial principles and practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.
  • Solid fundraising experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training preferred.
  • Academic background and experience in a selected area of research preferred.
