Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Palliative Care Physician Assistant to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals and their families in our Oncology Care Center.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care: Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process. Work collaboratively with attending physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Patient Education & Psychosocial Support: Educate patients and families on care and recommended resources, and provide psychosocial support in a caring and professional manner.
  • Information Management: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, and protect patient confidentiality.
  • Quality Management: Demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, and ensure compliance with patient-related healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain and advance clinical competency, and serve as a clinical resource for new team members.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
  • Experience: Prefer clinical working experience as a NP/PA within the given specialty/service line, but none required.
  • Licensure: Active PA Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, ACLS/BLS Certified, when indicated for position profile.

Additional Information: This is a full-time position based in North Haven, with rotation to Derby, Waterbury, and Torrington. Oncology and Palliative Care experience is required. Hours are 7:30a-6pm during the week.
