We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our Hand and Upper Extremity Section of the Orthopedic Department at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support ambulatory outpatient needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, review/orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and radiologic results, formulate and manage patient treatment plans.
- Collaborate with attending supervising/collaborating physicians in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols and clinical pathways.
- Provide patient education and psychosocial support to patients, their family members, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.
- Ensure appropriate documentation within the accordance of hospital and regulatory requirements and protect information of all forms from unauthorized access modification, destruction, or intentional or accidental disclosure.
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Prefer clinical working experience as a NP/PA within the given specialty/service line recommended, but none required.
- Active PA Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, ACLS/BLS Certified, when indicated for position profile DEA License, when indicated for pediatric position profile PALS, when indicated for neonatal care NRP Certification.
This position will rotate multi-sites including New Haven, North Haven, Milford, Wallingford and Stamford. There may be some opportunity for FA in the OR.
