Maintenance Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Union Bridge, MD. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day preventive maintenance and repair activities for our department.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and supervise the work of maintenance crews and outside contractors to ensure timely and quality completion of tasks.
- Manage urgent or breakdown jobs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment is running efficiently.
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel to expedite problem resolution.
- Develop and motivate direct reports to achieve a reliable and competent workforce.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner to develop work schedules, prioritize mechanical expenditures, and maintain equipment usage schedules.
- Prepare material and labor estimates to develop project cost estimates and plant budgets.
- Monitor the acquisition and use of materials to meet productivity and budgetary goals.
- Maintain accurate records of time, work orders, materials, equipment, and other mechanical shop activities.
- Evaluate employee skills, abilities, safety practices, and behavior to maintain the necessary skills to perform their jobs.
- Plan staff schedules, including assigning work and overtime as required to meet maintenance needs.
- Participate in the implementation of plant projects, providing input into the design and implementation of mechanical aspects to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness.
- Ensure adherence to plant rules of conduct, policies, and health & safety protocols during maintenance procedures.
- Provide ongoing maintenance support to the plant, participating in the on-call program and evaluating and determining the course of action for maintenance incidents after hours and on weekends.
- 5 years of mechanical repair and maintenance experience.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Prior experience working with heavy industrial machinery and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead others with or without direct authority.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including MS Excel and Word.
- Prior experience working with or interpreting Collective Bargaining Agreements is a plus.
- Ability to anticipate and adapt to changing situations.
- Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, working within confined spaces, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
