Job Title: Teacher - Head Start Preschool Program

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our Head Start Preschool Program team at Capital Area Community Services, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education and care to our young students.

Job Summary

The Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in children. This includes planning and implementing lesson plans, assessing child progress, and communicating with parents and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning and promotes social-emotional growth.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess child progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers through regular progress reports and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive program.
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and learning theories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
