Position Overview: The Early Childhood Education Specialist/Instructional Coach plays a vital role in ensuring that GSRP funded programs adhere to the guidelines set forth in the GSRP Implementation Manual. Reporting to the Education Supervisor, this position involves a reduced coaching caseload while focusing on the planning, coordination, and execution of educational programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and observations to ensure compliance with educational standards.
  • Collaborate continuously with managers, teaching teams, and other specialists to enhance program quality.
  • Utilize the CLASS assessment tool for ongoing program evaluations.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for professional development.
  • Work alongside teaching teams to establish meaningful goals for program quality improvement.
  • Facilitate professional development sessions and training workshops.
  • Support education staff through various coaching levels, including intensive and moderate coaching.
  • Model effective teaching practices in early childhood settings.
  • Employ adult learning principles to tailor individualized coaching strategies aligned with program objectives.
  • Ensure effective communication among education staff, mental health staff, and supervisors.
  • Assist in developing actionable plans for staff professional growth.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times.
  • Stay updated on relevant educational standards and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in early childhood education, including program planning, staff supervision, and training.
