Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant to support our licensed physical therapists in delivering exceptional care to our patients. This part-time role is ideal for individuals eager to gain practical experience in a clinical setting.

Key Duties:

  1. Assist physical therapists in patient care, including preparing treatment spaces, organizing equipment, and maintaining a tidy work area.
  2. Support patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities under the guidance of a physical therapist.
  3. Keep precise and comprehensive patient records, ensuring timely completion of all documentation.
  4. Help with patient scheduling, reminders for appointments, and follow-up communications.
  5. Ensure all equipment is sanitized and functioning properly.
  6. Educate patients on effective exercise methods and strategies for injury prevention.
  7. Create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for patients, enhancing their experience at our facility.
  8. Engage in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  9. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college program, ideally with a focus on physical therapy, kinesiology, or a related discipline (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • A positive demeanor, with a sincere desire to assist others and work within a team.
  • Capability to follow directions and work independently when required.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy and exercise techniques is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment is beneficial but not essential.
