Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at Community Transit. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating activities to monitor, evaluate, control, and maintain the delivery and quality of fixed route transit services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and motivate a team of transportation professionals to ensure the on-time delivery of quality service.
  • Develop and implement performance management strategies to improve employee productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Investigate and resolve employee and customer complaints in a fair and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of services and effective communication with customers.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our services.
Requirements
  • 4 years of supervisory or management experience in a union environment.
  • 2 years of transportation/transit industry experience.
  • Able to demonstrate a safe driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Washington State Commercial driver's license.
  • No written discipline in the last three years.
  • Ability to work on-call and on weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Transit industry work experience.
  • Project management techniques and practices.
  • Transit operations knowledge.
  • Existing policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Community Transit system knowledge.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk between buildings, bus stations or stops, and other locations. You may also be exposed to automotive fumes, odors, and dust, and may need to complete tasks in noisy environments and varying weather conditions.
