Key Responsibilities
  • Parking Operations Management: Oversee the setup, operation, and breakdown of parking facilities for special events, ensuring seamless execution and excellent customer service.
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with event planners, Duke colleagues, and community leaders to develop and implement parking plans, including sign package creation and distribution.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain accurate inventory of work materials, including signs, banners, and equipment, and ensure timely distribution and retrieval.
  • Logistics and Administration: Manage contractor hours, facilitate billing, and maintain accurate logs of event-related activities.
  • Customer Service and Communication: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, respond to inquiries, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Work autonomously, making minute-by-minute decisions using parking and transportation policies, previous experience, and sound judgment.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to obtain and maintain a NC driver's license.
  • Experience: One year of experience in an environment supporting events, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, outstanding communication and listening skills, and strength in customer service.
